Stuartholme Students Ready to Have Their Own Taste of International Women’s Sport
Stuartholme students are getting a kick out of the hype generated by women鈥檚 competitive sport and are set for their own opportunity to represent Australia on the world stage.
Twelve students in grades eight and nine are putting in their final training before heading off to France on 29 August to represent Australia at the inaugural Rugby Heritage Cup (RHC2023).
鈥淭he excitement generated by the Matildas鈥 brilliant success and enormous support has really inspired the Stuartholme community,鈥 said Principal Mr Daniel Crump.
鈥淥ur Rugby 7鈥檚 team have drawn real motivation from Australia鈥檚 winning soccer squad.
鈥淚t certainly isn鈥檛 lost on the girls that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and they鈥檙e making the most of their remaining training sessions before they depart on Tuesday, 29 August for Pontlevoy in France,鈥 he said.

鈥淲e are very proud of our French heritage and the opportunity to travel to our place of birth, whilst also celebrating the 200th anniversary of Rugby,鈥 said Mr Crump.
The tournament will be held 2-7 September 2023. Stuartholme鈥檚 team will compete against 24 international teams, in the week before the Rugby World Cup
The Stuartholme students will travel with Iona College 鈥 the Australian representative schoolboys鈥 team.
